Prefect PBL

Kia Ora

This term’s PBL we could make an island using cardboard or Minecraft. I created an island out of cardboard for mine.
I added rocks to my model, and they work great for construction for my cave . Metamorphic rock is an excellent material for building. Since sedimentary rock is made up of sandstone, which is known for breaking easily,  so I wouldn’t use it. The life forms in my Island are some trees and some rainbow trout in the river. The type of soils that I have is clay that is underground and sand dirt. The air quality on my Island is really good because there is no humans to ruin my Island the air is made up with oxygen and a bit of  carbon dioxide.

amazing reading

This week for reading we learnt about reading between the lines. The create was reading about the attack on doomsday and answer questions then create a picture on Google drawings. I did a man sad because his wife left him and e is crying on the stairs . Here is the create.

Here is the goal for this create:

Independently predict, interpret and analyse text, ‘reading between the lines’ to gain a deeper meaning.

Can you answer these questions?

Amazing Writing

Hello, this week we had to write a post on Twitter on staying healthy as part of our Hub task. I created a post of my own where I gave a summary about what will happen if you don sleep. First, you had to create a user name. After that, you could write a sentence and indicate how many people had viewed your post. Finally, you could add a profile whi.

Amazing reading

We have been learning  about climate change in our readings, and the reasons it matters to take action to prevent it. This week’s learning objective is to name a few texts events and parts and talk about how they cause the reader to reflect. Having to complete this duty made me depressed because I could not stop thinking about every animal that would perish. I believe that knowing this is crucial, and writing about it on my blog helped me feel better about it. We were required to make a poster or a movie for our project that explained what’s driving climate change, why we need to stop it, and how.

This is what I made:

remarkebale Reading

Hello, for this week’s reading, we have a task board with five various kinds of tasks, and we have to finish one of the chores in order to blog.

Our reading objectives were to use increasingly complex texts to broaden meaning and raise questions by drawing links between them and general knowledge.

“The haka,” “Roller coaster,” “Turning old,” “Fossils or foods,” and “The Promise One” are a few of the tasks. I did most of it but im going to blog about my how  recycling is good for the plannet.

Did you know the fun facts?

How can we be Champions of Peace

For the last four weeks of Term 3 we were learning about ‘How we can be Champions on Peace’.

Firstly we learnt about the different symbols of peace. Some of these are yin and yang  Yin is negative, dark, and feminine, Yang positive, bright, and masculine.  These symbols represent peace because the symbols have historical back story

With these symbols in mind I created a Peace Artwork. My Peace Artwork represents peace because it’s got three symbol’s of peace.

We also researched some real life champions of peace and wrote a short biography. I wrote about Lionel Messi  I thought this person was a champion of peace because he donates money to charities.

We also created a peace prayer book. I have attached my peace prayer book here.

I enjoyed learning about peace because it shows the efforts made by champions of peace to bring things to this point, where it is far better than it was in the past. We got here thanks to the efforts of all those people, which I find to be fairly intriguing and something to be thankful for.

I learnt that everyone on the planet can show peace, not only those who promote it. If we all work together, we can all bring about inner peace, peace in our communities, and most importantly, peace for everyone.

One way I plan on being a champion of peace is by Teaching others God’s word and telling parables and other stories from the Bible will be one of the ways I hope to be a champion of peace. I want to teach others about what Jesus did in his lifetime and what other peacemakers achieved when he was alive. I may promote peace by treating people with kindness, respect, and thought for how I want to be treated.

Super Salty Reading

Last week for reading our reading goal was think while reading and pick up new information, and come up with new ideas and new thinking. the reading was an atircle called pass on the salt it was about how kids eat more then the recmonded amount of salt. we talked about how there is 40% sodium in table salt.

A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) studied the eating habits of 2,142 children aged 6 to 18. It was found that their daily sodium intake averaged 3,256 mg. This equals to roughly 1-1/2 teaspoons per day, which is 50% more than the current guidlines recommend.

last week reading create was we had to mae a menu with food that has low soidium.

super science

Hello and welcome to my blog. For the past week we have been learning about science. But our main focus for science was electricity. We have made tons of cool experiments, such as making circuits, flashlights and lightbulbs.

One of the experiments we did was: battery power

Materials needed : 2 copper nails, 2 zinc nails  2 beakers for water and the used water and a test tube and some wires with clamps on the end.

My Hypothesis: Before conducting my experiment I thought that it won’t work because you are just filling a cup with water and salt and some clipping some nails on it .

What I discovered: After finishing my experiment I found out that my hypothesis was incorrect because although it took 10 tries, it did work and I  was surprised to see it works

So to make a buzzer work. The materials we had were 2 copper nails, 2 zinc nails, salt, water and some wires. The first step was to pour 3/4 of water, then the second step was to add one spoon of salt then mix it gently. Then we had to clip any 2 nails on to the clamp of the wires then when you have to place it into the cup of water and listen close if you can hear a buzz, that means the experiment has worked. My group had to do it 6 times before we got it to buzz.

Conclusion: Out of all the experiments I did I really enjoyed doing the buzzer experiment because out of all of the experiments I did, that was the only successful one.

Have you ever done a science experiment like this? How long did it take for you to get it to work?

Perfect Poems

Kia ora,

Over the first few weeks of Term 3, we have been reading and writing all different types of poetry. Please enjoy reading my poetry.

List Poems: I discovered that a list poem is a poetic form that presents ideas, images, or emotions through a series of items or descriptions. It was interesting to do the list poem because I got to share my interest in a poem. The list poem is my 3rd favorite poem.

Limericks: I learned a limerick is a humorous five-line poem with a distinctive rhyme scheme and a bouncy rhythm. I also learned that the name limerick originated in Ireland and the first limerick poem was written in the 18th century. It was hard to do because it had to have a certain amount of syllables and lines.

Blackout Poetry: I discovered that blackout poetry is the art of selectively erasing words from existing texts to create new poetic compositions. It was interesting to find the words to turn in to a poem I but it was fun to read the poem.

Over the last two weeks  I really enjoyed writing all the poems.

Which poem stood out to you the most and why?
